Artists

Here at hiTrecords, we’re beyond pleased and flattered to work with our group of talented artists, vocalists and instrumentalists.

The Swingin’ Lads: Tom Donald and Steve Shapiro have been friends for decades, going back to the days of refrigerator-sized tape recording machines. Now, in the digital era, they continue to collaborate on music of all kinds. Timba Time, Fred Ross, Count On It

Tom Donald: Writin’, playing’, sangin’. Tom loves music of all kinds and stays busy with various ventures, including but not limited to, running hiTrecords with his beautiful wife Mitzi Ngim. Party’s Over, Queen Of The Hop, Safe At Home, Joey Baker, Three Dollar Bill, Sail Away, Thunder, One Number One

The Jazz Beaus: All four of the Beaus have been playing music for some time, and the collective lesson we’ve learned is that the craft is collaborative. It’s about the four of us playing music together. Making up the special sauce that separates our group from everyone else. And that’s what we strive for each time we take the stand. Ground Flower

The Soul Bros: These cats are a down but not-so-dirty soul band, as well as a group that can extend those boundaries into Latin and pop. Soul Good, Take A Breath, It Takes Two, Nights On Cornelia

Troy Johnson: One of the premier vocalists and songwriters in all of Nashville, and he shows his talents well on hiTrecords. Everything I Know, I Want You To Stay, Back Of My Daddy’s Ford, and The Good The Bad And The In-between

RW Smith: We’ve been friends for years and RW’s sung some of our better modern country tunes. You hear that voice, and it can make you cry. Or laugh. County Line, If I Can’t Have You, My Better Half

Tracy Walton: Tracy duets with RW on If I Can’t Have You, but she’s also a sensitive background singer on a lot of other hiT records tracks. In other words, this beautiful gal can sing.

Jewels Hanson: You see Jewels on stage and you don’t forget it. She’s beautiful, a bundle of energy and she can tell a story. Her duet with RW. My Better Half, is proof of that.

Jeanie Tracy: A legend among musicians and music fans alike, internationally. We’re pleased and mighty fortunate to have Ms.Tracy on our side. One Number One

Nic & the Charmers: A little-known side project from well-known jazz singer Nicolas Bearde, the Charmers are lookin’ back with joy on their hiTrecords debut, Come And Go With Me. But make no mistake, these cats are all about the future.

Dusty Drake: The country gentleman has been around the circuit for a while, but once you’ve seen him, you can’t forget him. 42 Years is his hiTrecords debut.

Blue Payne: The young man is blessed with a voice like none other we’ve heard, and when he swings into the earworm that is When You Love Somebody, everyone gets a story.

Royal West: Handsome as the day is long, nonetheless Royal tends toward the melancholy in songs. And when he swings into For A Dance, who can blame him? He left us his hat.

Glenn Walters: Kind of a legend around these parts, and everywhere else, too. Founding member of the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils, and the owner of a spectacularly huge voice that makes people like me (who wrote just a couple of the songs he sings) weep with joy. Check him out on All About The Good Times.

Charles Unger: The man is a musical institution in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for his exuberant style and his entertaining stage show. His latest record, Summer Rhumba, is a song he wrote while contemplating the loveliness of summer.
