Sean Smith grew up in Cos Cob CT, and from an early age he knew he loved music. Played in the requisite garage bands until college, when he went off to the Manhattan School of Music. Upon graduation, Sean found his way into New York’s vibrant jazz scene, logging time with Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods, Benny Carter, Lee Konitz, Peggy Lee and Rosemary Clooney and Mark Murphy, among others.
