Collaborators

Music, like most creative arts, is a collaborative endeavor. And we owe everything to the talented musicians who have helped make hiTrecords what it is today, and will be tomorrow.

Tommy Dunbar
Tommy’s been a good friend for almost 40 years and an even better friend for the last ten, as I eased my way back in music, after so many years in advertising. I’ve learned more from this man than he’s forgotten. Thanks, my friend. https://tommydunbarmusic.com

Tom Disher
Tom has long been a hero of mine, but he’s also a key element in our band the Jazz Beaus. Tom plays piano like nobody else I know but is also a prolific composer. And funny fellow. Always enjoy the times I get to hang with Tom, and I always walk away having learned something new. https://www.dishersound.com/

Ramiro Cairo
The gentleman is a true Renaissance man; he’s one of the best drummers I’ve ever worked but is also a talented artist, and husband and father. Ramiro plays in the Jazz Beaus and each one of us is happy he does so. http://www.ramirocairo.com/

Eric Scheide
I met Eric at a jam session and was immediately impressed by his willingness to try anything. “Give me the sheet, let’s go for it.” Refreshing attitude, to say the last. Now he’s the reeds player I think of when that comes up, and it has on repeated recent occasions. And he’s also a JazzBeau. https://eric.ratrat.com/

Brandon Butrick
Brandon was standing at the edges of a film industry party, one of those where you start wondering if one more beer would be worth it. We started chatting, discovered we had some stuff in common and almost immediately started working together. Then we started playing music, and finally, writing songs. It’s been perhaps 10 years now and we have quite a catalog, happy to say. https://www.photoncreative.com/

John Willis
I’ve become accustomed to hearing John do whatever he wants a on guitar. Sure, he’s a Nashville whiz won plays the hell of his instrument, and there are many of those in that town. But no one like him, and no who is as nice a fellow as John. https://www.willisoundz.com/

Charles McNeal
Charles is a player of the first order. And any style. the man loves jazz and can play a variety of saxophones (and flute) in various styles. But he can also honk R&B and rock with the best. NSA, meaning no snobs allowed. http://charlesmcneal.com/

Frank Grant
Frank and I met in a cabaret in New York City a couple of years ago. The singer called out to Frank and thanked for writing a song he had done. I introduced myself and we started writing songs together. Lovely fellow, excellent writer.

Reckless Johnny Wales
Bob Saporiti is my oldest friend. We met in the early 60s (man, we’re both old dudes) at Bowdoin College in the state of Maine, and immediately sparked to one another. Later on, we hooked up in San Francisco and wrote songs, ran a studio and chased around with abandon. Bob lives in Nashville these days and goes by his stage name Reckless Johnny Wales. In the current era, we’ve written exactly one song together, “Alcohol of Fame,” but it’s a good one. Thanks, Bob. https://www.recklessjohnnywales.com/

Fred Ross
There is no one who doesn’t like and/or love Fred Ross. One of the nicest fellows you’ll ever meet. His voice is big and his heart is bigger. Always love to hear this man sangin.’ http://www.fredrossproject.com/

Jay Trilogy
Born Colordo McHugh, Jay is a creative man who can convey his thoughts in rhymes. And has he ever done so on my records. Color me grateful. https://www.facebook.com/jaytrilogymusic

Brent Moyer
One of Nashville’s finest singer songwriters, and players. And what a sweet, true voice. Happycall this young man a pal. https://brent-moyer.com/

Jon Herbst
Jon plays piano differently than virtually anyone else I know, and am I grateful. My tracks have some Herbst in them, and no one else could do the same. His gracious personal style is yet another attribute, and while it’s always fun to play music with Jon, it’s equally entertaining and sit around and share a meal. Thank you, Jon. http://www.herbstmusic.com/

Ben Hicks
Ben is a young man who works for my good friend Tom Disher, and while he tends to be a self-effacing sort, you put a guitar in his hands and he turns into a beast. He can turn around a track in seconds, and I’m happy about that. https://www.facebook.com/benhicksmusic/

John Reider
John Reider is an adman, through and through. In fact, that’s how we met, on the J.Walter Thompson softball team. John, the towering first baseman, and me, the diminutive dude at second base. Somehow we bonded, and over the years, made ads and commercials together. And now, songs.
